A specialist in woodwork restoration of historical monuments, Asselin has worked on some of the most prestigious French heritage buildings: the most famous of these restorations is without doubt that of the 288 windows of the west exterior wall of the Palace of Versailles, which include the windows of the famous Hall of Mirrors.
Asselin has contributed to the interior decoration of historical Paris town houses and new luxury residences. The wainscoting, panelling, ceilings and traditional woodwork at the Ministry of Culture and the historic Lyon courthouse have been restored by the expert hands of our cabinetmakers.
In accordance with traditional know-how, Asselin restores or recreates the roofs and structures of historical monuments or traditional properties: castles, churches, mansions, but also small country houses, private residences, etc.
At the very centre of the workshops, the forge works in close collaboration with the joiners for whom it restores or recreates all types of traditional ironwork: hinges, handles, cremone bolts, espagnolettes, etc.
Menuisiers, charpentiers, ferronniers d’art…
For the past twenty years, Asselin’s know-how has been exported to every continent. On the island of La Réunion, we have restored numerous villas and creole churches. In Singapore, Russia, Italy and England, our joiners have distinguished themselves in the construction of fine properties and prestigious restoration projects (the Opera Garnier of Monaco, the Villa Medici in Rome, etc.).
Asselin has also exported its know-how for fifteen years all over the United States and especially in Atlanta where the company has its own agency. Today, numerous properties in the States of Georgia, Washington, South Carolina, California, New York and Texas feature our French joinery-work with its inimitable cachet.
